Çimsa announces second quarter results
Having created a distinguished name in the cement and building materials industry with its experience more than 40 years and wide product range, Çimsa announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2013. According to this, turnover of the company as of 30 June 2013 was 469 million TL. While the profit from operations before tax is 237 million TL, profit for the period has been realized as 217 million TL.
Hacıkamiloğlu: Cement industry and Çimsa showed a successful performance for the first half
Stating that the cement industry has shown a development parallel to the economic growth, Çimsa General Manager Mehmet Hacıkamiloğlu said: “Domestic demand in the Turkish cement sector in the first half of 2013 displayed a positive development. Beside the great infrastructure and superstructure projects carried out across the country, cement consumption increased with the partial impact of urban transformation projects. We are expecting that great infrastructure projects in the construction sector as well as mega projects such as Izmir-Istanbul Motorway and 3rd Bridge over Bosphorus will be effective on the demands in the forthcoming period.”
Emphasizing that the revenues of Çimsa, which is one of the leading companies in the Turkish cement sector, has increased by 18 percent compared to the same period of last year to reach 469 million TL turnover, Hacıkamiloğlu stated that Çimsa's operational performance has been increasing permanently every year and that they are uninterruptedly continuing their efforts which will render the operational performance sustainable.
127 million TL of Çimsa's Profit for the Period sourced from the net sales profit obtained from the standards of international financial reporting of H.Ö. Sabancı Holding shares sold at Istanbul Stock Exchange on 10 May 2013. Çimsa General Manager Hacıkamiloğlu noted that the income from share sales created an important source for company's future growth.
Important support to Turkish economy through white cement exports
Underlining that Çimsa, as the 2nd largest white cement producer in the world, exports to over 55 countries, Hacıkamiloğlu further said: "We became one of the most important companies in the world by raising our competency in special products to top level in addition to our grey cement operation. Currently we get a great deal of our export revenues from white cement and special products.
By selling our high value added products, which we developed as a result of our R&D operations, to many parts of the world, we both contribute in our country's export revenues and also we foster our position in the Turkish economy day by day."
