Today the Company maintains its business operations acting towards the target, as set forth in the corporate vision; "Becoming Turkey's most valuable enterprise in the cement and ready mixed concrete business", and in line with the vision of "Becoming the partner of choice for international consumers of concrete and cement."
The company defines its main business as; "Supplying the key input to ensure sound and healthy infrastructures and superstructures both for living spaces and industrial buildings. "
In 1975, the Company started its operations with the first production plant in Mersin, and since then Çimsa has been the leader of innovation in the Turkish cement and ready mixed concrete industry, offering a wide range of products including special types like white cement and calcium aluminate cement, in addition to Gray Portland Cement. Developing innovative products in line with customer expectations, Çimsa started the production of SüperBims cement at the Nigde Plant, in 2010.
In 1988, Çimsa made its entrance in the ready-mixed concrete industry and currently operates plants in Adana, Mersin, Kayseri, Antalya, Osmaniye, Kahramanmaraş, Nevşehir, Eskişehir, Kütahya, Bursa, Konya, Karaman, Aksaray, Sakarya and Bilecik. Today, 41% of Çimsa's shares are traded on the Istanbul Stock Exchange. With an annual turnover figure of 600 Million TL and clinker production capacity of reaching up to 5 million tons per year, Çimsa is one of Turkey's largest cement producers.
Çimsa is one of the three major brands in white cement worldwide, and is actively engaging in the introduction of Turkish made cement across international platforms. Çimsa's presence in 46 countries with subsidiaries and terminals operated, including locations such as Sevilla (Spain), Alicante (Spain), Emden (Germany), Constanta (Romania), Trieste (Italy), Novorossiysk (Russia) and Gazimağusa (TRNC) along with the Company's capability to sell its products under its own brand, has been the key driver of success.
The Company eagerly committed to maintain the effective expansion and energetic growth in the international markets through the terminals located abroad, holds the CE and Kitemark quality certifications needed to place cement products in the EU markets.
As the introducer of leading sustainability practices in Turkey, Çimsa has executed the protocol for launching the project to establish a Waste Steam Power Generation Unit at the Mersin Plant, in July 2010.
The project, which is aimed to recover 50% of the electric power consumed in the two production lines of the plant, will also significantly reduce the carbon emissions.
The modernization investment of 2010 ramped up the production capacity of the first line in the Mersin Plant from 3400 tons/day to approximately 4000 tons/day while ensuring increased clinker quality and cutting down the heat required for clinker production.
Çimsa aims to achieve world-class business excellence through the implemented quality management system, environmental management system, occupational health and safety management system and the Company holds licenses for utilization of wastes as additional fuel input, pioneering the way to minimize the emissions levels and environmental impact.
Contributing to the conservation of natural resources and disposal of wastes with minimal impact, Çimsa aims to generate alternative energy from domestic and industrial wastes and achieve energy savings through the "Hot Disc Project" investment planned to be implemented at the Eskisehir Plant.
Environment and human health are among the key priorities of Çimsa and the Company continues its efforts in occupational health and safety matters, under the 'Green and Safe Plants' initiative in its ready-mixed concrete operations.
